Closed Beta: Artemis II

News and updates regarding the Artemis app currently in closed beta

5 min readBy Bix12 Aug

Artemis II is in closed beta. This post is where the beta gets reported: what has landed, what is still broken, and what testers have found. It is updated as things happen, newest first.

If you want to know what Artemis actually is, that lives on the Artemis page. This one is only about how the beta is going.

What testers are doing

Ten testers are on it. The build is deliberately in few hands: a small group finding real problems beats a large one finding the same one twice, and every tester is someone who plays enough for the numbers to be worth checking.

It opened on 30 July 2026 at 0.9.0 and is on 0.10.3 as of 7 August, which is eleven releases in nine days. Most of them came from something a tester hit.

Bugs, requests and daft questions go in the Artemis channel on Discord. If a figure disagrees with your own logs, post them.

Updates

7 August 2026: A live overlay for the run

The Tracker can now open an overlay that sits on top of the game and keeps the run's figures where you can see them. You choose which figures it shows, set how solid it is, and it stays where you put it between sessions.

Before it, watching a run meant alt-tabbing out of the game to look.

6 August 2026: The item catalogue stops being a frozen copy

Item data used to be copied out of Nexus and kept. That meant a change at Nexus never reached you, and there was no way to tell your own edit apart from theirs.

The catalogue now reads live data with your edits modelled as rules on top. You can see what Nexus changed, keep your own markups, and neither one overwrites the other.

5 August 2026: Every figure comes from one place

Two panels showing slightly different totals is worse than showing no total at all, because you cannot tell which one lied. Every money figure now comes from a single projection, so they cannot disagree by construction.

There is also a chart for reading a run, and a way to see the working behind a figure rather than taking it on trust.

2 August 2026: Cut a run, and fix what it was costed with

A session no longer has to be the shape the log left it in. You can cut a run at any point, and correct the gear it was costed with, and the figures recalculate against the correction.

This matters because the common case is not a clean run. It is realising forty minutes in that you swapped a weapon, or that the first half was a different mob entirely.

31 July 2026: Share cards, and globals read off the screen

Globals are now captured from the game window itself. And when one lands, Artemis can draw a share card on the game's own screenshot, so the thing you post is the moment rather than a spreadsheet row.

You can preview the card without waiting for a Hall of Fame, which is just as well, because waiting for one to test with is a poor plan.

30 July 2026: The beta opens at 0.9.0

The first build goes out to testers. Sign-in is through Discord, releases come down their own channel, and anyone who used the old Tracker can bring their history across.

The sessions workspace lands with it: inspect a run, compare two, combine several, and file them into folders.
